sizing guide

We endeavour to include as much relevant information in the product description as we can to help you choose the right product and the right size.

baby clothes

Clothes are listed in sizes according to months eg. 0-3 months, 3-6 months, 6-12 months, etc. Designers may cut their clothes differently and sometimes there is size variation between brands. Wherever possible we have taken this into account and have adjusted the sizing accordingly so that you can confidently choose the correct size. For example, if a onesie is listed on the label as 6-12 months but it ‘runs small’ we may list it as fitting up to 8 months.

If you are buying clothes as a gift for a newborn we recommend choosing 3-6 months or 6-12 months. This allows for differences in birth weight so that no matter how big or small the baby they (and their parents!) will be able to enjoy your gift.

baby shoes

The length in centimetres from heel to toe is listed in the product description. This is an external measurement that you can use as a guide to select the correct size.

how do I measure for a nursing bra?

Follow these simple steps: To find the right size you need to measure your band size and your cup size.

1. For your band size pull the tape measure around your rib cage underneath your breasts, placing it just under your bust at the front and making sure the tape measure is flat and straight across your back. Pull the tape snug and measure in centimetres or inches.

    Band size
cm in
63-67 25-26 32
68-72 27-28 34
73-77 29-30 36
78-82 31-32 38
83-87 33-34 40

2. For your cup size repeat the measurement but this time measure across the fullest part of your breasts. Make sure the tape measure is fairly loose. Find your band size in the column on the left in the table below, then follow the row across until you find your cup measurement. This will be your cup size. For example, if your band size is 34, and your cup measurement 37 inches (or 94cm), you will be a 34D.

Your ribcage will fall back to its natural place in the weeks and months after your baby is born, so you should initially fit a nursing bra on the loosest hook, so that you can then tighten it as your ribcage 'shrinks'. You should also be able to fit your hand inside the cup so that you have enough space for breast pads.

how can I be sure I am wearing the right size?

1. Baggy cups?
Try going down a cup size. If the cups are creasing around the nipple, however, try going down a band size to pull the fabric taut.

2. Overflow?
Spilling out over the tops or sides of your cups simply means that you're wearing too small a cup size: try going up a cup size.

3. Shoulder straps digging in?
A bra's main support comes from the underbust band, not the straps. If the straps are digging in then they’re taking too much weight, so go down a band size.

4. Riding high?
Look in the mirror side-on. Is your bra band at the same level all the way around? If it's riding up at the back, you should try going down a band size.

5. Too tight?
Your bra band should feel tight and firm, but with enough space for two fingers under the back band. A maternity bra should initially fit on the loosest hook, whereas a nursing bra should initially fit you on the tightest hook.

6. A good shape?
The best way to see what shape a new bra will give you is to try it on under a tight fitting t-shirt. Look at yourself from all angles and make sure that you get a smooth line with no unwanted lumps or bumps.

can I exchange a bra if I order the wrong size?

Absolutely – although for hygiene reasons it must be unworn and the label must still be attached. Simply return the bra in its original packaging and let us know the size you would like. If possible contact us (by e-mail or phone) so that we can ensure that we have the correct size in stock for you. If the size you need is not in stock we can order the correct size for you. For more information on how to return any item see our easy returns policy.
